Breast Enlargement

Breast enlargement, technically known as augmentation mammoplasty, is a surgical procedure to enhance the size and shape of a woman's breast for a number of reasons:

  • To enhance the body contour of a woman who, for personal reasons, feels her breast size is too small
  • To restore breast volume lost due to weight loss or following pregnancy
  • To achieve better symmetry when breasts are moderately disproportionate in size and shape
  • To improve the shape of breasts that are sagging or have lost firmness, often used with a breast lift procedure
  • To provide the foundation of a breast contour when a breast has been removed or disfigured by surgery to treat breast cancer
  • To improve breast appearance or create the appearance of a breast that is missing or disfigured due to trauma, heredity, or congenital abnormalities

Woman breasts have always been a sign of beauty and womanliness. By inserting an implant behind each breast, surgeons are able to increase a woman's bustline by one or more bra cup sizes.

This type of surgery consists in inserting a prothesis filled with silicone gel or saline under the mammary gland or breast muscle. Incisions through which protheses are inserted can be made in the infra-mammary fold, around the nipple-aureola complex or within the arm pit. The surgery takes 1 - 2 hours.

Both tear drop and round implants are available different people suit different shapes to produce a more natural look. Advice will be given during the consultation.

WHAT ABOUT RECOVERY ?

Patient stays in hospital for 1 night after the surgery.

WHAT ABOUT CONVALESCENCE ?

The stitches are dissolvable are disappear about two weeks after the surgery. Patients must wear special bras for 1 month after the operation.Three days in Poland is recommended.

Breast Reduction

WHAT IS BREAST REDUCTION ?

Some women develop large breasts during puberty, whereas others develop them as a results of weight gain, the menopause or hormone replacement therapy. The majority of women who opt for breast reduction surgery do so because their breasts are so large they cause physical pain, discomfort or bad posture.

There are many methods of removing excess material from the breast. The safety limit for breasts reduction is around 40-50%. Breast reduction and breast lifting procedures aimed at achieving the desired size and shape of breast are performed under general anesthesia. During the operation excess skin, subcutaneous tissue and mammary gland are cut out and  the breasts are given a new shape by suitable suturing of the remaining tissues. After remodeling, excess skin is removed and the nipple-aureola complex (reduced in size) is repositioned. Before suturing, drains are inserted to prevent the occurrence of haematomae. The skin margins are then joined together with delicate stitches.

What happens during breast reduction surgery?

Breast reduction is usually performed through incisions on your breasts with surgical removal of the excess fat, glandular tissue and skin.

In some cases, excess fat may be removed through liposuction in conjunction with the excision techniques described below. If breast size is largely due to fatty tissue and excess skin is not a factor, liposuction alone may be used for breast reduction.

The technique used to reduce the size of your breasts will be determined by your individual condition, breast composition, amount of reduction desired, your personal preferences and the surgeon’s advice.

Step 1 - Anesthesia

Medications are administered for your comfort during the surgical procedure. The choices include intravenous sedation and general anesthesia. Your doctor will recommend the best choice for you.

Step 2 - The incision

Incision options include:

  • A circular pattern around the areola

Breast Reduction - Circular Pattern, Before Breast Reduction - Circular Pattern, After

The incision lines that remain are visible and permanent scars, although usually well concealed beneath a swimsuit or bra.

  • A keyhole or racquet-shaped pattern with an incision around the areola and vertically down to the breast crease

Breast Reduction - Vertical Incision, Before Breast Reduction - Vertical Incision, After

  • An inverted T or anchor-shaped incision pattern

Breast Reduction - Anchor Shaped Incision, Before Breast Reduction - Anchor Shaped Incision, After

Step 3 - Removing tissue and repositioning

After the incision is made, the nipple-which remains tethered to its original blood and nerve supply-is then repositioned. The areola is reduced by excising skin at the perimeter, if necessary.

Underlying breast tissue is reduced, lifted and shaped. Occasionally, for extremely large pendulous breasts, the nipple and areola may need to be removed and transplanted to a higher position on the breast (free nipple graft).

Step 4 - Closing the incisions

The incisions are brought together to reshape the now smaller breast. Sutures are layered deep within the breast tissue to create and support the newly shaped breasts; sutures, skin adhesives and/or surgical tape close the skin. Incision lines are permanent, but in most cases will fade and significantly improve over time.

Step 5 - See the results

The results of your breast reduction surgery are immediately visible. Over time, post-surgical swelling will resolve and incision lines will fade. Satisfaction with your new image should continue to grow as you recover.

WHAT ABOUT RECOVERY ?

The patient stays in hospital for 1 day after the surgery. Dissolvable stitches are used.

WHAT ABOUT CONVALESCENCE ?

Convalescence can take a few weeks. Special elastic garments and massages are recommended during the convalescence period. Resuming work is possible about 10-14 days after the surgery. Excessive physical effort such as sports activities should be avoided for some time. 4 days in Poland is recommended.

Tummy tuck (abdominoplasty)

WHAT IS ABDOMINOPLASTY ?

The majority of people who opt for a tummy tuck have an excessive amount of saggy skin and fat around the middle that's been caused by weight gain, massive weight loss or pregnancy.

Abdominoplasty is performed in order to remove an excess of lax skin, fat and subcutaneous tissue. Also the tummy tuck procedure improves the tension of abdominal skin and tightness of the muscles of the abdomen.

The surgery is performed under general anesthesia. The abdominal wall is tightened by corrugating the straight muscles of the abdomen. After the operation the tension is improved and the abdomen flattened, however, lower abdominal scarring and a circular scar around the navel may remain. Most often this surgery is combined with liposuction which enables the removal of any excessive fatty tissue from the sides and the upper part of the abdomen.

The best candidates for abdominoplasty are men or women who are in relatively good shape but are bothered by a large fat deposit or loose skin. The surgery is particularly helpful to women who, through multiple pregnancies have stretched their abdomen and wish it to return to normal.

The tummy tuck  can also tighten the muscles of the abdomen wall, which leaves patients with a tighter, flatter stomach and slimmer waist.

WHAT ABOUT RECOVERY?

After the first day of convalescence patients should feel able to walk with assistance. For 2-3 days after the surgery the patient should rest with their hip joints slightly bent, dressed with a soft elastic dressing.

WHAT ABOUT CONVALESCENCE?

It is advised that patients do not resume work for about 10-14 days after the operation. It is recommended that elastic garments are worn to support the surgical area for a period of two months after the surgery. 5 days in Poland Is recommended.

Liposuction

WHAT IS LIPOSUCTION?

This is one of the most frequently performed procedures. Liposuction is a procedure that can help sculpt the body by removing unwanted fat from specific areas, including the abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees, upper arms, chin, cheeks and neck. Liposuction can remove stubborn areas of fat that don't respond to traditional weight-loss methods. It is also a way of reproportioning the body-if, say you are very pear shaped figure.

This procedure is performed with a cannulae introduced to the subcutaneous tissue through a small skin incision. Every care is taken to ensure that incisions are made discreetly - therefore any post-operative scars are almost unnoticeable.

HOW LONG DOES THE PROCEDURE TAKE?

This procedure is conducted in well equipped operating theatre conditions. It can be performed under general anesthesia, with the patient totally asleep, or, when specifically requested, with local anesthesia. The surgery can take from several minutes up to a few hours depending on the volume of fatty tissue to be removed. Usually small incisions (circa 5 mm) are made in skin folds leaving no visible scars.

WHAT ABOUT RECOVERY?

After the procedure patients usually stay in the surgery for a short period of time (usually 24 hours) and can leave the clinic thereafter. Daily check up visits and changing of dressings are required for a few more days. 3 days in Poland is recommended.

 Thigh lift

Inner Thigh Lift versus Liposuction

An inner thigh lift will remove loose skin and lift the remaining skin. Liposuction will reduce fat volume, but may worsen the appearance of your inner thighs if your primary problem is skin laxity. If your problem involves loose skin with poor tone, lift will be best. If your problem is excess fat, then liposuction is most appropriate. If your problem is both loose skin and excess fat, you may attempt inner thigh lift with liposuction.

The Best Candidates for Inner Thigh Lift

To be a good candidate for inner thigh lift, you must have realistic expectations about what this cosmetic surgery procedure can do for you. It's important to understand that inner thigh lift can enhance your appearance and self confidence, but it won't necessarily change your looks to match your ideal or cause other people to treat you differently. Before you decide to have cosmetic surgery, think carefully about your expectations and discuss them with plastic surgeon.

The best candidates for inner thigh lift are those who loose excess inner thigh skin. You should be physically healthy, psychologically stable and realistic in your expectations. Your age is not a major consideration. The best time to consider inner thigh lift is after you have stabilized your weight through diet and exercise.

Operation

Before the surgery plastic surgeon will mark the areas where the surgery will be performed. The incision for this procedure begins somewhere in the front groin and proceeds around your inner thigh onto your buttocks. If your inner thigh skin sagginess is excessive, a vertical wedge of skin can also be removed along the inner thigh, this way horizontal and vertical skin tightening is allowed. The vertical excision also leaves a vertical scar extending from the inner groin down toward the inner knee. The vertical wedge excision is an infrequently performed part of thigh lifts.

Post-operational Course

You will usually remain at the clinic for 1 nights and will wear a special compression bandage. If drains are placed, they will be removed in 1–3 days after the surgery. Garments worn after liposuction are essential to achieving good results following surgery. You will have to wear this garment for 4–6 weeks after the surgery. After a month it is no longer necessary for the underwear to be worn at night.

The plastic surgeon usually uses disoviable stitches, which need to be removed in 21 days after the surgery. After 2 weeks, you patient can return to everyday activities, avoiding strong physical efforts. In 4 weeks you may slowly resume exercise. Any bruising and swelling will usually dissipate within 1–2 months.

Your newly tightened inner thigh skin will loosen slowly in response to gravity. In 10 years, you might need another inner thigh lift. If you lose weight, your skin may become lax, and you may be ready for another lift sooner.

Bruising or inflammation of the treated area is common, but this will disappear over time. Final result is seen after your scars have matured, approximately 6 months.

How will I feel after the surgery?

You will probably feel tired, sleepy and suffer from pain especially in 1–3 days after the surgery. You will be given some painkillers and tablets for reducing the swelling. The surgeon will also prescribe antibiotics as a prevention of any potential infection.

You might also feel unhappy after a few days. This is normal and is caused due to the stress, general anaesthetic, lack of patience with the healing problems, more pain than you expected or the fact that because you underwent inner thigh lift cosmetic surgery abroad you miss your home and family.

Some clients suffer of constipation. We advise you to bring some gentle medication or you can buy it in Poland.

Is the recovery painful?

According to our client’s experience they did suffer from a pain. However, when you will be leaving the clinic you will be prescribe painkillers by the surgeon. You will probably feel discomfort, swelling, heaviness, and numbness in the areas where surgery was performed.

Possible Risks and Complications

Liposuction carries slightly higher risk for individuals with medical problems such as diabetes, significant heart or lung disease, poor blood circulation, or those who have recently had surgery near the area to be contoured.

However, the specific risks and the suitability of liposuction for a given individual can be determined only at the time of consultation. All surgical procedures have some degree of risk. Minor complications that do not affect the outcome occur occasionally. Major complications are rare.
